Becky
Year 2003
5 years old
On January 4, Becky turned five years old.  It is hard to believe that the tiny baby  who barely clung to life at birth has grown to be such an energetic and joyful little girl.  The past year, Becky has experienced a surge in her growth and development.  She now weighs 34.5 pounds and is 42.5 inches tall.  That's sure a big difference from the 2 lb 8 oz and 14 inches that she started at!!

Becky is walking all over the place WITHOUT her walker!!  She only uses her walker for gym class at preschool.  She still falls down a lot, and is scared to walk on any surfaces other than carpet, but if she is secure with her surroundings, she will even attempt to "run".  Preschool and therapy take up much of her time, but we are seeing steady progress.  Becky goes to preschool four afternnons a week.  She has PT and OT at school on Mondays, goes to Mary Free Bed for PT on Wednesdays and has swimming on Fridays.  During her "spare" time, she loves to play with Jessi, her babies, and Barbie dolls.  Her favorite thing to play with is paper and ink pens (or crayons/markers).  She can already write her name and loves to practice drawing people and learning new letters.  I spend a lot of my day telling her how to spell things so she can write them down.  When she is done, she puts her masterpieces in envelopes and plays mailman as she passes them out.  When she grows up, Becky would like to be a neonatologist because she wants to take care of babies that live in boxes.  What a joy it is to continue to watch God's hand in Becky's life.  It is truly amazing to think of how far she has come!!
